What is the purpose of the regular pill box? 

The purpose for just a plain odd pill box is to organize the user's medication for the week. As people get older, the need for medication increases for their daily life, so many resort to using a pill box. This pill box would sort out their medicines, so they would actually remember taking everything that is prescribed to them. Sometimes, the user would forget if they have taken their medication for that day or not, and that can resort to a problem. An even worse issue is when they would forget to replace their medication for the following week. The user could easily think that they have taken the medication for the day when in reality they have not, so this is where the Smart Pill Box comes in handy. 

Why is the Smart Pill Box useful?

The Smart Pill Box(SPB) does all the purposes of a regular pill box but more. The SPB will have electrical circuits infused into the box to allow switches and sensors to activate LED lights as reminders for the user. These LED lights will serve as a reminder for anyone using it if they have taken their medication or not as well as if they need to refill the box for the next week. Now no one will forget due to the LED lights. This SPB will be user friendly because all the lights are different colors. 

Another great aspect of the SPB is that it will be child proof. Many parents are terrified if their child would ingest their medications, and the regular pill boxes can be easily opened just by dropping it on the floor. This newly improved box won't be as easy to open due to a new design that will be created through a 3D printer. The SPB is now user friendly as a reminder, and it is child proof. This creation is something that every parent or grandparent would want in their household.
